A beautiful record from jazz singer Rachel Gould – an artist you might remember for a famous session with Chet Baker many years back – working here in a set that really shows her talents as a songwriter too! The set features many original lyrics penned by Rachel, mixed with a few well-chosen tunes by other songwriters – all served up in a record that goes way past over-recorded standards and overdone jazz vocal tropes – still with that sense of freshness that made Gould such a great artist when she first came on the scene.
