The Mandolin Wind Project is a recording studio project comprised of longtime friends Bradley Ford and Dewayne Grissom, featuring with Ford on guitar, bass, mandolin, banjo, keyboards, and drum programming, and Grissom on mandolin, drums, and vocals. Ford and Grissom attribute their sound to a combination of influences, including Seals & Crofts, Firefall, and Loggins & Messina.
Ford and Grissom actually started working together in 1977 as members of the legendary New World Band which was part of a burgeoning Oklahoma City original music scene. New World combined rich vocal harmonies and mandolin with searing electric guitar work. In 1985 Ford and Grissom founded the Rumors Band which was a rock-pop variety band that traveled and performed throughout many states for nineteen years. In 2001, they began working on their first acoustic album titled The Mandolin Wind Project which was released in 2003, followed in turn by Second Wind in 2008, and then Crosswind, which was released in 2023 following the untimely passing of Grissom.
